My Bound for Glory Live Notes and Pics

Yeah yeah, it's like 2 weeks late, but I've been busy. My roommate and I have
a childhood friend living in Chicago now, and when we found out that Bound for
Glory was going to be there, we decided to take the plunge.
I was able to guess the password for the presale, and as a result, snagged seats
in the second row. We were able to run to the railing after every match, and a
friend who ordered the show said she saw us during pretty much every entrance.
One of my signs said "I CAME FROM HALIFAX, NS TO SEE THE KNOCKOUTS", and I made
it on air along with that sign during Awesome Kong's entrance. During the post
show wrapup, JB grabbed my sign and held it up, which you can see if you skip

I haven't seen the show on tape yet, but it was a blast live. The crowd was
hot, and it was especially awesome being that close to the ring.
Got to meet pretty much all of the wrestlers the day before at the Fanfest. It
was three 90 minute autograph sessions, with 10 tables per session. Most of
the meetings were the typical "You rule, great to meet you!" type stuff, but a
few of them stood out a little more...
Dixie Carter was AWESOME. Very personable. I was impressed with how friendly
she was with everyone. When I got my buddy to take my picture with her, his
camera died. She waited patiently while I fumbled to get mine ready. As the
picture was taken, someone tapped her so she looked away. But I figured I'd
already taken enough of her time, and started to leave. She told me to wait
though, because she wanted to make sure I got a good picture. I thanked her
for being so fan friendly, and said she was better than Vince. She laughed
and said she's not sure if that's true, but I was sweet. She even remembered
me at the PPV the next day!
AJ Styles didn't know what to make of it when we asked him to sign a photo
for a friend who couldn't make it to Chicago, but loves him so much that she's
taken to calling herself "Xtina Styles"
Bobby Roode used to wrestle in Halifax, and remembered us. He asked about the
old gang and whatnot. I told Storm that he could probably sympathize with how
I felt that day because I'd been up drinking till 4am. He laughed and said
"Well I was drinking till *5*!"
I told Rhaka Khan that she was hot, but intimidating. She asked if I was
scared, to which I replied "......yes". She asked why, and I said because
she's sexy, but could totally kick my ass. She smiled and said that's what she
was going for. She asked for a hug before I left, and I was more than happy to
oblige.
Kong and Raisha Sayid were the most out of character, being very personable
with everyone and loudly cheering "Yaaaaaaaaaaay!!!" when someone wanted a
picture with them. Funny to see, especially considering their characters on
TV.
Contrast that to Sonjay and So Cal Val, who were actually in character, which
was pretty lame. At one point, Terry Taylor yelled at Sonjay for texting.
The Beautiful People were only supposed to appear for one of the sessions, but
their lineup was so long they stayed for two. This meant that Earl Hebner,
who was supposed to get their table, had to share with Petey Williams. I told
Velvet Sky that I dressed up as Hurricane for Halloween one year. She replied
"Nice!" then I asked if that meant I had a shot with her. She laughed and I
confessed that that was the best idea I had for hooking up with her, and I had
nothing else. I told Angelina "From one Canadian to another... thank you for
bumping Hebner!" Velvet found that hilarious. As I was walking off, she said
to Angelina "He was soooo cute!" Unfortunately, it was in a "Awww how
adorable!" tone of voice.
I met Hebner when I got Petey's autograph, and confirmed that "Katie Kim" is,
in fact, his daughter. He said she might still do something with TNA, but
isn't sure right now. As I was leaving, he called me over to show me a pic of
her on his cell phone. This ended up being kinda awkward, as his phone took a
while to switch on, so we were kinda twiddling our thumbs while waiting.
I told Samoa Joe that I agreed with everything he said about Sting, and he
thanked me. I then continued to rant about how it's so true that Sting doesn't
do anything all year, never shows up, and yet keeps getting stuck in the main
events. At this point Joe seemed a little taken aback, his reaction was pretty
amusing.
Overall, it was a great trip... the TNA stuff was once in a lifetime, and it
was also nice to catch up with an old friend. But man, multiple nights in a
row of drinking past 4am and sleeping less than 5 hours can really add up when
you're pushing 30...
I hope this doesn't sound sarcastic or condescending, but this post was
adorable!

It's Stefan's job to be sarcastic and condescending to me. :(

Was it my wide-eyed awe at the wrestlers, or the fact that I made this post
as if people would care?

Yes! And you had fun, cute anecdotes about the conversations.

I really wasn't being sarcastic or condescending, though.
